Negative Hamster Language

Constantly trying to run away from being petted
 “Please leave me alone, I don’t want to be handled right now…”
The hamster has had enough of petting time.
Folded back ears
 “Ugh…I am having such a bad time!”
The hamster is not happy, aggressive, or is in a very bad mood.
Squeaking
 “I don’t want to play anymore, please put me back in my cage, or else!”
 Do not continue to do whatever you are doing with the hamster; put it back in its cage. It is another sign of being very unhappy and if you continue, it will nip.
Flinching

 “Ah!”
 There was a noise that made the hamster scared.
Lying on its back, baring its teeth

 “Beware! I will attack you!” 
 The hamster is frightened and is prepared to attack.
